SkrewsLoose Radio upgrades are complete. What did we end up with?
- Dedicated DSP server for the radio station to minimize interruptions.
This server is hosted in our offices in the new sound studio and provides music to the central server for distribution to listeners.
- QOS setup
Quality of service enabled to provide consistent throughput without skipping.
- Icecast DSP software and host
This allows us to utilize many Icecast functions, including embedded Flash and other media players, live/realtime DJ broadcasting on the station, and the ability to allow requests, ID3 tags for music files, podcasts, votes, and keeping track of track plays.
- New music!
We have been adding an average of a dozen new artists to the station every week.
Note: In order to improve service, we have changed hosts. As a result, the address used to connect to the station has changed. Please update any links you have made to the station to reflect this change. The new address is:

We have a lot going on at SkrewsLoose Radio and listeners have been tuning in on a regular basis to hear the hottest Midwest tracks, uncensored and commercial-free. We have made some major improvements, which I have outlined below. But first: The contest...
We are hosting a contest sponsored by http://Twisted3D.com in which listeners will vote for their favorite songs. The contest will begin with a dozen station artists. More artists will be introduced in new contest rounds.
To vote, listeners can visit http://SkrewsLoose.com. You do not need to be a member of the site to vote or participate, but you are welcome to join!
To participate as an artist, you simply need to have your music on the station. If you have already submitted your music, please be patient as we work to add new songs. If you have not submitted your music but are interested in showcasing it on the station, you can follow the guidelines found at the following link to get your music submitted.

The prize for the contest will be awarded to the artist with the most votes by July 31st. The prize is two hours of development time with http://Twisted3D.com for designing your logo, myspace page, web site, and/or graphics! ($400 value) You will also get your own custom 20-minute block on SkrewsLoose Radio for a whole month!!

What else is happening at SkrewsLoose Radio? Check it out:
- Enhanced compatibility - Before, you could only access the station using Winamp or iTunes. Now, you can listen with any Flash-compatible browser! Use our flash player at http://SkrewsLoose.com.
- New station code for myspace - Use the code provided on Chemos' myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/miser9) to add SkrewsLoose radio to your own myspace page! Simply drop the provided code in your "About Me" section when editing your profile to add the station.
- Upcoming rock block - We will be adding a rock block to the station featuring Midwest-based rock artists! The station will operate in blocks so you can still listen to the genre of your choice, or both!
